Late week heat will be greeted by an old summer friend, the Saharan dust is back for the weekend

HOUSTON – The morning storms fell apart but should provide some starting points for storms to fire up again this afternoon. Nothing too serious but some spots will see lightning, heavy rain and dust winds.

  • Tropical Atlantic: No tropical cyclone activity expected in the next 7 days, as there are plenty of plumes of Saharan dust. It will bring a hazy look to our weekend forecast

  • SE US Coastline: The NHC has downgraded a 10% chance of tropical development off the coast of central Florida to a 0%. Not a good chance for an “Andrea” but could bring some heavy rain to the beaches later this week

  • Eastern Pacific: An 80% chance of cyclone formation in 7 days near southern Mexico and south of Central America.

10 Day Forecast

The next 10 days the pattern stay pretty typical to early June. The best rain chances will likely be Wednesday with a cool front that stalls just north of Houston.
